Here we really come into our own. The Atholl Arms is your premier highland hotel for the very best shooting, stalking and hunting in Scotland.
Many types of shooting, stalking and hunting are available in the immediate area and the hotel is expert in, fully equipped for - and can help put together, a great package for an individual or a group. Do enquire in advance as while you can shoot something in Scotland 365 days a year, some opportunities are seasonal, you may require to observe certain formalities especially if you are bringing guns from overseas, and as we work with local agents plenty of notice is desirable so that you will not be disappointed. In some cases a minimum number of participants is required. We will guide you though all of this.
Choose from first class bird shooting with driven pheasant and grouse, rough shooting, woodcock and some unbelievable goose shooting. There is also superb deer stalking for red, roe, sika and fallow deer on nearby Atholl Estates, together with a wealth of other sporting activities you can combine such as golf, fishing, hill walking and Munro climbing.
Perthshire is one of the world's most famous areas for Salmon fishing with the 119 mile River Tay dominating the county. But Highland Perthshire has much more to offer the angler. From salmon fishing to sea trout and brown trout to rainbow trout, not forgetting coarse fishing for grayling, pike, perch and roach - all the fishing which makes Scotland and this area world famous - challenging fishing set amid stunning scenery. Rivers, lochs and fisheries, Perthshire has have it all! And all types of fishing are widely available and affordable in Perthshire, many close to our doorstep. And tackle shops, fishing agents, and countrywear department stores are all available locally.
Fish without hassle at a number of fish farms throughout Perthshire. These offer good sport for beginners as well as the experienced fisher, and equipment can be hired at several venues. Some will even provide free lessons to get you started!
The sheer number of local angling waters makes it impossible for us to list them all here. Ask us for the information you need on waters, catch, permit outlets and costs to help you plan. We can suggest suitable waters and can ensure the perfect place to relax at the end of the day! We have an enviable reputation as one of Scotland’s premier sporting hotels and we fully understand, and have been capably providing for, fishermen’s needs from all over the world for many many years.
